This page explains how to notify us if you believe material published on lifeexplainedd.com infringes your copyright, and how to respond if your material has been removed in error.
Our Position on Copyright
All original articles, guides, photographs, graphics, and other material published on this Site are created by LifeExplained or used under licence or permission.
Where we use third-party images, quotations, or references, we make reasonable efforts to obtain proper licensing or to rely on fair use, and to credit the source appropriately.
If you believe we have used your work without authorisation, we want to hear from you. In most cases a copyright concern can be resolved quickly and informally — often by adding proper credit, replacing an image, or removing the material entirely. You are welcome to contact us before filing a formal notice.
Filing a Copyright Infringement Notice
If you are a copyright owner, or authorised to act on behalf of one, and you believe material on this Site infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to the address below.

Required Information
To be valid, your notice must include all of the following:
- Your identification and contact details — full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are involved, provide a representative list.
- Identification of the infringing material — the specific URL or URLs on lifeexplainedd.com where the material appears, described precisely enough for us to locate it. A link to the homepage alone is not sufficient.
- Proof of ownership — evidence that you own the work or are authorised to act for the owner, such as a link to the original publication, a registration number, or the original file with metadata.
- A good faith statement — a statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement of accuracy — a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Your signature — a physical or electronic signature.
What Happens Next
We take copyright complaints seriously and act on them promptly.
- We will acknowledge receipt of a complete notice within two business days.
- We will review the claim and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material.
- We will notify the person who published the material, where applicable, and provide them with a copy of your notice.
- We aim to resolve valid claims within ten business days of receipt.
Incomplete notices will be returned with an explanation of what is missing. We cannot act on notices that do not identify specific URLs.
Submitting a Counter-Notice
If your material has been removed and you believe the removal was a mistake, or that you have the legal right to use the material, you may submit a counter-notice.
Send it to contact@lifeexplainedd.com with the subject line DMCA Counter-Notice, and include:
- Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it previously appeared
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of an appropriate court, and agreeing to accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice
- Your physical or electronic signature
We will forward your counter-notice to the original complainant. If they do not file a court action within ten to fourteen business days, we may restore the removed material.
Repeat Infringers
We maintain a policy of terminating access for anyone who repeatedly infringes the copyright of others.
Users who repeatedly post infringing material in comments or submissions will be blocked from the Site, and their contributions removed.
False and Abusive Claims
Please be aware that filing a false or bad faith copyright claim carries legal consequences.
Under Section 512(f) of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, any person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be held liable for damages, including the costs and legal fees incurred by the alleged infringer and by us.
We review claims carefully and reject those that appear to be attempts to suppress legitimate criticism, competition, commentary, or fair use.
