Whether your CNIC is stuck in processing, your tracking ID shows no update, or you want to know which documents to carry, the fastest way to get an answer is to talk to NADRA directly. The problem is that the internet is full of old and fake NADRA helpline numbers. This guide lists only the numbers and channels shown on NADRA's official website, explains when to use each one, and gives tips to get your issue solved on the first call.

Official NADRA helpline numbers (2026)

These are the contact details published on the official NADRA contact page. The helpline works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Note: NADRA call centre charges are set by your mobile network, not NADRA. A call to 1777 or the UAN is not free, so keep your details ready before you dial. NADRA staff will never ask for your Pak ID password or an OTP code on the phone.

Which NADRA number should you call?

  • You are in Pakistan and have a mobile: dial 1777. It is the shortest route to the call centre.
  • You only have a landline: dial 051-111-786-100.
  • You live abroad: dial +92 51 111 786 100. Short code 1777 does not work from foreign SIMs. You can also use the live chat on the Pak ID portal to avoid international call charges.
  • You want a written record: send an email to csd@nadra.gov.pk or file a complaint online. Written complaints get a reference number you can follow up on.

What the NADRA helpline can help you with

The call centre handles general and application-related queries for all NADRA services, including:

  • CNIC and Smart NIC status, delays and delivery — see our CNIC tracking guide for the SMS 8400 method first
  • Fee and document questions for CNIC renewal, modification and duplicate cards
  • B-Form (CRC) and Family Registration Certificate queries
  • NICOP and POC issues for overseas Pakistanis
  • Pak ID app problems: login, biometric failure, payment deducted but application not submitted
  • Booking NADRA's doorstep service for elderly and disabled citizens (see below)
  • Reporting a lost or stolen CNIC

For SIM ownership questions, the helpline will usually send you to PTA's system — use our SIM check on CNIC guide instead.

How to call the NADRA helpline: step by step

  1. Keep your details ready: your 13-digit CNIC number, the 10 to 15 digit tracking ID from your receipt (if you applied), and the mobile number registered with your application.
  2. Dial 1777 from mobile or 051-111-786-100 from landline (or +92 51 111 786 100 from abroad).
  3. Choose your language — Urdu or English — from the IVR menu.
  4. Select the service (identity card, NICOP, Pak ID, complaints). If you are not sure, wait for the option to speak to an agent.
  5. Explain the problem briefly and give your tracking ID when asked.
  6. Write down the complaint or ticket number the agent gives you, along with the date and the agent's name.

Tip: Lines are busiest from 10 am to 2 pm. Calling early morning or after 9 pm usually means a shorter wait, since the helpline runs 24/7.

NADRA complaint: email and online options

If a phone call does not solve your issue, file a formal complaint so it is tracked:

  1. Email: write to csd@nadra.gov.pk. In the subject line add your CNIC and tracking ID. In the body, explain the problem, the date you applied and the centre name. Attach the receipt photo.
  2. Pak ID quick chat: log in at id.nadra.gov.pk and use the chat option to reach a NADRA representative. This is the best option for overseas users.
  3. Complaint portal: NADRA's centralized complaint system at complaints.nadra.gov.pk gives you a complaint number you can track.
  4. Escalation: if NADRA does not respond in a reasonable time, you can file a complaint on the Pakistan Citizen's Portal (PMDU) app, which forwards it to NADRA.

NADRA home service through the helpline

NADRA offers a doorstep service for elderly and disabled citizens who cannot visit a centre. A NADRA team visits the home to process CNIC renewal or modification. According to news reports from July 2026, it can be booked by calling 1777 or 051-111-786-100, and it covers cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Taxila, Wah Cantt, Lahore, Karachi and Hyderabad. Ask the agent about the extra charges and availability in your area when booking.

Beware of fake NADRA numbers

Warning: Fraudsters call from normal mobile numbers or send WhatsApp messages claiming to be "NADRA officers", saying your CNIC will be blocked unless you share an OTP or pay a fee. NADRA does not collect fees over the phone or WhatsApp. Only trust the numbers on this page, which match NADRA's official website, and never share your OTP or Pak ID password with anyone.

Other NADRA shortcuts that save a call

  • Check application status: SMS your tracking ID to 8400 — details in our tracking guide.
  • Check SIMs on your CNIC: SMS your CNIC number to 668 — see the SIM check guide.
  • Renew your CNIC without visiting an office: use the Pak ID app — our CNIC renewal online guide covers every step.
  • Passport queries: passports are handled by the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports, not NADRA — see the passport renewal guide.
