B-Form NADRA 2026: Fee, Requirements & How to Apply Online (CRC Guide)

Quick answer

A B-Form (Child Registration Certificate, CRC) is NADRA's identity document for children under 18. You first need a computerised birth certificate from the Union Council, then apply at a NADRA centre or through the Pak ID app. The fee is Rs 50 (normal) or Rs 500 (executive). Under 2025 rules, children aged 3–10 need a photo, and children 10 and above need a photo and fingerprints.

The B-Form (NADRA B-Form) — officially called the Child Registration Certificate (CRC) — is the NADRA document that records a child under 18 in the national database and links them to their parents' family tree. It is needed for school and board registration, passports for children, health programmes, travel and, later, the child's first CNIC.

In 2025 NADRA changed several B-Form rules, including photographs and biometrics for older children. This guide covers the current B-Form fee, requirements and the online and office process.

B-Form fee 2026 (NADRA)

ServiceNormalExecutive
New B-Form (CRC)Rs 50Rs 500
Duplicate B-FormRs 50Rs 500
B-Form modificationRs 50Rs 500

Normal processing usually takes around a week, while executive processing is typically completed within about a day. Confirm the current fee in the Pak ID app or at the NADRA counter before paying.

B-Form requirements (documents)

You can confirm the latest list on NADRA's official website or in the Pak ID app before you go.

  • Computerised birth certificate of the child from the Union Council / local government, registered in NADRA's system. Birth registration with the Union Council is now a precondition for a B-Form.
  • Valid CNICs of both parents (or the guardian's CNIC with guardianship documents where a parent is deceased or unavailable).
  • Parents' marriage registered with NADRA — the mother must appear as the father's spouse in NADRA's family tree.
  • For children aged 3 to 10: a recent photograph taken at the centre or in the app.
  • For children aged 10 to 18: photograph, fingerprints and iris scan — the child must be present.

New rules in brief: Under the NADRA regulations approved in 2025, no biometrics are taken for children under 3; children aged 3–10 need a facial photograph; and applicants aged 10–18 need fingerprints, photograph and iris. B-Forms issued with a photo also carry a validity period, so older B-Forms may need to be updated as the child grows.

How to apply for a B-Form online (Pak ID app)

  1. Log in to Pak ID with the parent's account (father or mother with a valid CNIC).
  2. Select Child Registration Certificate (CRC) and choose New.
  3. Enter the child's details exactly as written on the Union Council birth certificate — name spelling, date of birth and place of birth must match.
  4. Verify the parent's fingerprints through the phone camera.
  5. Add the child's photo (and biometrics where required) as the app instructs. If the app cannot capture them, it will direct you to an NRC.
  6. Pay the fee online and note your tracking ID.
  7. Download or receive the B-Form once approved. You can track the application in the app or via SMS 8400.

How to get a B-Form at a NADRA office

  1. Get the child's birth registered at your Union Council and collect the computerised birth certificate.
  2. Visit any NADRA Registration Centre with one or both parents, their original CNICs and the birth certificate. Take the child along if they are 3 or older.
  3. Take a token, provide the details at the counter and give biometrics/photo as required.
  4. Check the printed form carefully before signing — especially name spellings.
  5. Pay the fee and keep the receipt with the tracking ID.

When do you need a B-Form?

  • School and board registration — most boards require the B-Form number for 9th and matric registration.
  • Passport for a child — the passport office links the child to the parents through NADRA records.
  • Travel and visas — embassies often ask for the B-Form along with an FRC.
  • Government programmes — for example BISP's education stipends and health cards list children by their B-Form. See our BISP 8171 guide.
  • First CNIC at 18 — the CNIC is issued using the data already recorded in the B-Form.

Special cases

Parents divorced or one parent deceased: the parent or legal guardian applying must bring supporting documents such as a divorce/death certificate or guardianship order, and the case is usually handled at a NADRA centre rather than online.

Children born abroad: overseas Pakistanis can register a child through the Pak ID app or a Pakistani mission after registering the birth with the local authorities and the embassy/consulate.

Old B-Form without photo: under the newer rules, B-Forms issued with a photograph have a validity period. If your child's B-Form was issued before the rules changed, check with NADRA whether an update is needed before admissions or travel.

Correcting a mistake on a B-Form

Spelling or date-of-birth errors should be fixed early, because the B-Form data is carried into school records, board certificates and later the CNIC. Choose Modification in Pak ID or at the NRC and bring supporting proof such as the corrected birth certificate. Matching the birth certificate, school record and B-Form now saves a lot of trouble at matric and CNIC time.
